Daniel Bates

Database Engineer in a Swiss private bank. Married to Franziska with 2 children, Alison (23) and Kevin (20). Loves to play piano and any brass instrument (most of all Eb Bass) but conducts Zurich Central Band since year 2000. Definitely looking forward to the upcoming African experience!

Hanspeter Burger

Former car mechanic, has worked for 25 years as diector of a Salvation Army centre. Married to Margit, 3 daughters and  3 grand children from 5 to 20 years. Plays the trombone in the band of the corps Berne and is looking forward to the upcoming camp.

Christian Fuhrer

Born 1952, retired town council secretary, junior band leader Zurich Central Corps (1974-1982), playing a brass instrument since 1961 and trombone since 1965

Tobias Kramer

22 years old. Loves to tell stories with his camera. Works as a graphic designer in a marketing departement and freelancing as a photographer for the Salvation Army of Switzerland.

Thomas Kagoro

Former Harare City Corps bandsman. Played bass trombone for Empire Brass and Chorus many years ago. Married to Erin and has 2 children Jocelyn (17) and Alex (13). Has worked for The Salvation Army, Rochester Area Services, in New York State. Most excitedly looking forward to the homecoming!

Monika Meier
Trained farmer, brass instrument repairer and part-time office-worker at a music publishing house. Married to Werner, a specialist for water supply, mother of 2 daughters (29 and 27). Started to play clarinet with 8, switched to trombone, later basstrombone and tuba. Currently playing in a village brass band and in the Zurich Central Corps band. God gave us the music to praise HIM, HALLELUJAH!

Fungai “Fufu” Mettler
Works in the thematic area of conflict transformation for an NGO based in Zurich. Married to Lukas who has influenced her love and connection to music intensely. Enjoys writing things that she experiences and so is excited about all the adventures the camp will bring. Remembers how good the last music camp was and can’t help but smile when she thinks of what the next will bring.

Lukas Mettler
Works as a Public Relations Consultant for a communications agency. Married to Fufu whom he met in Zimbabwe nearly 5 years ago. Plays the solo cornet and sometimes the trumpet for the Zurich Central Band. Also plays in a band called Mettiwetti with his siblings, where he plays the guitar, bass guitar, accordion and sings. Greatly looking forward to meeting everyone.
